Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It just so happens to be my favorite meal of the day as well! I can eat breakfast at any time.
Let's be honest, I have no self-control when it comes to breakfast. I would eat a big breakfast every morning if I could. There are probably some of you out there that could relate.
At one point, I was going to the McDonald's drive-thru for breakfast sandwiches pretty frequently too. I am also a big fan of bagels and cream cheese. It can be a slippery slope into a not-so-great habit if you start to eat these foods more frequently.
It's not bad to eat these foods in moderation, but probably not the best idea to eat them consistently. I ended up putting on a few extra pounds when I was eating these breakfasts more frequently and realized I could cut out the big fatty breakfasts I was consuming.
Want other easy and healthier options for breakfast that are just as yummy? I'm with you! It took me some time to actually wake up and want the healthier options but didn't take me terribly long because they are still satisfying, but so much better for you!
I hope you like these breakfast recipes as much as I do!
Light Multi-Grain English Muffin Turkey Bacon Breakfast Sandwich

The version in the photo is the less healthy version of this sandwich.
Using the mild cheddar cheese slice adds 90 calories.
You can use just egg whites (usually 17 calories each) and no cheese to make it healthier!
The sandwich in the picture shown is roughly 340 calories.
If you don't use cheese and substitute egg whites, the sandwich is close to 200 calories.
In my opinion, the eggs are better with more black pepper. Especially if you are using egg whites.
I have also made an English muffin breakfast sandwich with just egg whites, spinach, green pepper, and black pepper and they're amazing!
These are so quick and easy!
Prep Time: 2 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 7 minutes
Ingredients:
1 Light Multi-Grain English muffins (I use the Thomas' brand)
2 slices of Turkey bacon (I like the Jeannie-O brand)
1 slice of Mild cheddar sliced cheese (optional)
1 large egg scrambled (use 2 eggs if you are just cooking egg whites)
Non-stick spray for pans
Directions:
Grab two separate pans and place them on the stove. One will be for the turkey bacon and the other will be for the eggs.
Spray the non-stick spray on the pan for the eggs.
Place both of the pans on low-medium heat.
Place 2 slices of turkey bacon on the pan without the non-stick spray.
Scramble the 1 large egg or separate the yolk and egg whites to just use egg whites and place them in the other pan with the non-stick spray.
Cook the turkey bacon for roughly 6 minutes, flipping over halfway, or cook the bacon until it is slightly golden brown. I prefer to cook mine a little longer.
Cook the scrambled eggs for 3-4 minutes, or until cooked through.
Toast the light multi-grain English muffin in the toaster until cooked to your liking.
Create a sandwich placing the cheese on the top of the English muffin if you desire to use it, then the eggs and turkey bacon on the bottom of the English muffin and close together to make a sandwich.
Place the sandwich in the microwave for roughly 15 seconds to melt the cheese.
If you use the egg whites, spinach, and green pepper, and black pepper, just add the spinach and green pepper to the eggs and cook them longer until the spinach is wilted and the green pepper is slightly cooked. You should only need to cook the eggs for about 3-4 minutes after adding the vegetables and black pepper.
These breakfast sandwiches are so yummy and easy to make! You could even use turkey sausages and slice them thin to put them on a breakfast sandwich instead of the turkey bacon.
Forget going to the drive-thru for breakfast. In my opinion, these are always more satisfying than a bagel with cream cheese or a breakfast sandwich from McDonald's!
Please let me know your thoughts, opinions, and favorite breakfast sandwich!
Low-Calorie Banana Pancakes

These are one of the easiest low-calorie breakfasts, and yet it's so satisfying.
You only need 4 ingredients and they take very little time to make!
I prefer to also chop up some strawberries and put some non-fat greek yogurt on top of the pancakes with them!
You could also chop up other fruits and even add a little sugar to make them sweeter if you want. I don't usually use sugar to keep the recipe a little healthier.
This recipe usually yields about 4-5 pancakes depending on how big you make them. As you can see by the photo, you most likely won't get round-shaped pancakes, but I promise you they are super tasty!
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total TIme: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
1 ripe banana
2 large eggs
1/2 cup of old fashioned oats
1 tsp of ground cinnamon
3 strawberries (for topping if desired)
1/4 cup of greek yogurt (for topping if desired)
Directions:
Blend 1 banana, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup of old-fashioned oats, and 1 tsp of cinnamon in the blender.
Spray a pan with non-stick spray and place it on medium heat on the stovetop.
When the pan is hot and ready, pour small circular-shaped pancakes. I normally cook 2 at a time.
Flip pancake over after the bottom is golden brown and the edges are crispy and cook the other side until it is golden brown as well.
Top your pancakes off with your minced fruit and greek yogurt instead of using syrup for a healthier option and enjoy!
Blueberry, Honey, and Cinnamon Overnight Oats

You can eat these oats cold, or you can place them in the microwave for 20-30 seconds to warm them up like oatmeal.
You can also use different fruits or ingredients like strawberries, bananas, peanut butter, cocoa powder, etc.
There are so many ways to prepare overnight oats, this is just one of my favorites.
Prep Time: 3 -8 hours
Cook Time: 0 minutes
Total Time: 3-8 hours
This recipe requires no cooking time. You simply place the oats in the fridge to soak in the milk. It can take a few hours to soak in the milk. This is not an instant recipe.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup of old fashioned oats
1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk
1 tsp of cinnamon
1/4 cup of blueberries
1 tbsp honey
Use a glass jar or a different container with a lid to put the oats in.
Directions:
Place the 1/2 cup of old-fashioned oats, 1/4 cup of blueberries, 1 tsp of cinnamon, and 1 tbsp of honey into the glass jar or other container.
Pour 1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk over all of the other ingredients.
Cover jar and place in the fridge for 3-8 hours to allow the oats to soak in the almond milk.
Enjoy cold, or place in the microwave for 20-30 seconds to enjoy warm!
You can prep this recipe at night to have it ready for breakfast the following morning!
It's a great breakfast for on-the-go mornings!
